玄武石项目

The mission of the 玄武石项目 is to provide an end-to-end educational environment for eLearning for high school students and teachers.

The 玄武石项目 grew out of a 2003 Shared University Research grant from IBM. bet亚洲365欢迎投注 piloted its state of the art e-learning environment, the Greystone Educational Environment, in 2004 with two local school districts. Since that time more than 30 school districts from across New York State have joined the program. The Greystone environment incorporates best practices educational modules for students and teachers including access to the college's extensive digital repository. The program offers college level courses to high school juniors and seniors through an online bridge program. High school students may take up to two online courses each semester through the Greystone program. The program also offers a hybrid certification and graduate degree program in 教育心理学 at a significantly reduced tuition rate to program participants.

Each year Marist offers each participating high school the opportunity to recognize one of their outstanding computer science, information technology or applied mathematics juniors with the Greystone Technology award. See the 灰石科技大奖 tab at left for more information.

The 玄武石项目 offers online college courses to qualified juniors and seniors from member high schools.  The high school student may take up to two courses a semester and gets full access to the bet亚洲365欢迎投注 library and eLearning environment.  The student receives an official bet亚洲365欢迎投注 transcript and is in the course with traditional Marist students.  The instructor for each course is a qualified Marist faculty member. Courses are either 10 or 15 weeks long and follow the Marist Academic calendar, 秋季, 春季和夏季课程.

Courses are delivered totally online. 教师 members generally include a video clip introducing themselves to their students.  教师 members post regular office hours when they can be contacted online, by phone, or in-person.  Assignments and quizzes are due each week and are submitted online. Participation in discussion forums are an important part of the student’s evaluation each semester. Students do not have to come to the Marist campus and text books can be ordered online.  The tuition for each course is $399 due at registration.  Students must register at least two weeks before the course starts.

In order to be qualified to take a Greystone course, the student must be a junior or senior from a Greystone member school with at least a B average. The student must complete an application and get the approval of his guidance counselor and a parent.
